Day 6: Choose Your Battles
    Written by Anhayla Stanley

When you feel yourself getting angry…

When somebody cuts you off on the interstate…

When your boss says something rude…

When your significant other forgets to text back…

When troubles arise, ask yourself this — Do you want to go to war right not?

Is it worth the inner turmoil of loosing your peace and putting unnecessary stress on your body? Is it worth it?

Do you need to be defensive and prove that you are right? Do you want your mind to occupy that energy?

That is only a question you can answer but nine times out of ten the answer is no.

There are moments when you should stand your ground and stand in your truth. There are moments when you should be brave and speak up for yourself. These moments can’t be denied.

There are also moments where you should choose your battles and use your wisdom to reason. There are moments when you need to save your energy for the more important things in your life.

Stop fighting battles that don’t need to be won.  Don’t go to war over something that adds little value to your life.  You don't have to fight every battle. It's ok to surrender to God and focus on something else that needs your attention. What good is it to win a battle but loose yourself in the process?

Keep yourself grounded. Take time to think before you respond and especially before you react. Choose peace often...choose yourself.

That's how you really win in life.
